The implementation of the first stage of construction of EDS Park Legnica has just finished. At the Złotoryjska Street, right next to Unii Europejskiej roundabout, connecting the E65 and DK 3 routes, the Biedronka discount store was opened. It was not without difficulties related to the pandemic, but the situation should not affect the further implementation of the project.

The Lower Silesian investment is the third project implemented jointly by the Tri-City companies EDS Retail Park and Higasa Properties. This project is special because it has been carried out in the difficult reality of the epidemiological threat over the past few weeks, which also had an impact on the date of acceptance of the store in Legnica. – “Essentially, coronavirus-related restrictions affect everyone and almost all industries. While most of the construction and finishing work was done before the restrictions were introduced, the virus slowed down administrative issues related to the acceptance procedures. We had to wait a bit for the fire authority approval because the fire brigade unit was temporarily closed due to suspected infection. Fortunately, it was a false alarm and all fire-fighters are healthy. And we finally managed to get the approval.” – says Marcin Rudziński, a member of Higasa Properties Management Board.

EDS Park Legnica complements the commercial offer of the city. It was built close to modern housing estates, which will facilitate everyday shopping for residents. Nearby, there is also a plant which belongs to KGHM. - "Some time ago we noticed the potential of retail parks, small stores located close to housing estates. The current situation shows that this is the right model. In contrast to shopping centres, small convenience facilities can function. In addition, the majority of our network of tenants is based on selling basic necessities, such as food and hygiene products. In my opinion, coronavirus will affect the strategy of many companies, which until now have focused on opening branches only in galleries. Shopping streets may soon come back to glory and expansion of retail parks would also be affected.” – emphasizes Marcin Rudziński.

Let us recall that the Tri-City companies not only build and commercialize commercial facilities, but also offer the opportunity to invest within Higasa Club. - “It is already a few months since we finished acquiring financing from individual investors who in this particular park will gain 6% per annum. At the same time, discussions regarding the sale of the Legnica Park to the target investor are underway. Commercial real estate based on our model is a solution with lower susceptibility to crisis." - stresses Marcin Rudziński.
